floral goat cheese log

ingredients

  1. Dietz and Watson 10-ounce log fresh goat cheese
  2. ½ cup edible flowers such as pansies, violas, lavender, nasturtium, or alyssum (stems removed); plus more for garnish (optional)
  3. Wildflower honey for drizzling
  4. Flaky sea salt for sprinkling
  5. Assorted crackers for serving

directions

  1. Arrange the flowers between two sheets of wax or parchment paper and press between heavy books. Allow these to sit for at least 30 minutes.
  2. On a clean surface, space the pressed flowers out in roughly a 6-inch square. Starting at the bottom of the square and with the long side of the goat cheese log facing you, roll the goat cheese over the pressed flowers, pressing slightly to help the flowers stick. Wrap the cheese tightly in plastic wrap and twist the ends. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or overnight.
  3. When ready to serve, arrange the goat cheese on a platter with assorted crackers and fresh berries. Drizzle honey over the cheese and sprinkle with flaky sea salt and more edible flowers, if desired.
